Joyce and Pam Vincent

With over 75 million records sold, 5 Gold records, 5 Number One hits, a popular television variety series, movie and television appearances, JOYCE & PAM VINCENT are two-thirds of Dawn who’s “Tony Orlando & Dawn” became Pop-Icons that are forever etched in American Pop Culture. Along with Telma Hopkins and Tony Orlando, the group became an international sensation.

Upon their birth in Detroit, Michigan, Joyce & Pamela Vincent kissed the music world with their presence.

Joyce’s first endeavor in show business, as a young teen, was forming a girl’s trio known as “The Debonaires”. The group was signed with Golden World and released several hit records.
Following in her sister’s footsteps, Pam united with Joyce in the studio and they quickly became a highly sought-after background vocals team. Musically, the sisters functioned as identical twins - plucking soulful harmonies, similar to strings, that weave groups together.

Like others who chose a career in music, Motown became their “yellow-brick-road” and they appeared on many recordings with Motown and Stax Records artists.

Bell Records tapped the former Motown/Stax backing vocalists Telma Hopkins and Joyce Vincent to become “Dawn.” They were paired with Tony Orlando and went on the road after "Candida" hit #1 on the charts. "Knock Three Times" followed, eventually hitting #1. A string of chart-making hits followed. While Tony Orlando & Dawn were on tour in Europe, Pam sought out two new session singers to fill the void left by Joyce & Telma. She merged ingeniously with Donna Davis Sadler and Cynthia Douglas to form her own group, “Brandye.” The group released one album, “Crossover To Brandye,” on the Kayvette/T.K. Records label – where they also provided backing vocals for label-mates, K. C. & The Sunshine Band on the album, containing their mega hit “Get Down Tonight.”
During this period, Brandye also working with many other established artists in the studio and live performances, such as Johnny Taylor, Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis, Funkadelic, Bob Seeger,
James Brown, Peabo Bryson, and Isaac Hayes, and the list is extensive.
After Dawn’s tour of Europe, the trio became a quartet when they were joined in the studio by Pam who, in addition to singing, arranged all the background vocals. Sharply attuned to those odd intervals that give spirit to form, Pam’s keen ear makes her choices tasteful.

Touring commitments with Aretha Franklin had prevented Pam from appearing with Dawn prior to that and although she seldom appeared with them, Pam is credited with the other members of Dawn on all of the group’s albums.

The group’s next #1 single, "Tie a Yellow Ribbon 'Round the Ole Oak Tree," was the most successful single in their career. "Say Has Anybody Seen My Sweet Gypsy Rose" followed, rising to #3 on the
Billboard Hot 100. CBS gave the group their own television variety show in the summer of 1974, after The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour ended its run. The show became a Top 20 hit and ran until December 1976.

Throughout the group’s reign, they continued their string of hit singles reaching the Top 10 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and/or Adult Contemporary Charts. In 1991, Tony Orlando, along with Joyce and
Pam, released "With Ev'ry Yellow Ribbon (That's Why We Tie 'Em)".
A DVD compilation from their variety series was released in 2005, as well as the group's catalog of albums on CD. Tony Orlando & Dawn also reunited to release the “A Christmas Reunion” CD that same year. Publicity events for those releases marked the first time Telma, Joyce, and Pamela appeared together onstage.

Joyce and Pamela Vincent continue their impressive careers as session singers as well as performing around the world. They often appear at special events such as the annual Heroes And Legends (HAL) Awards in Beverly Hills, California. They often work with their good friend Windy Barnes-Farrell - who also makes a special appearance on the "QUIET MOON" CD - as members of Windy's Inspirational Voices of Free gospel group. They can be seen on the Christmas special at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, which is televised annually.

Joyce & Pam experienced another musical milestone when they appeared, along with The O’Jays and several other notable groups, to accept their awards when THEY WERE INDUCTED INTO THE VOCAL GROUP HALL OF FAME ON NOVEMBER 9, 2008!

Their millions of fans internationally continue to follow and support these talented sisters and are again delighted with Joyce & Pam’s performances on their new CD, "QUIET MOON." Consolidating artistic prowess with good friend’s SCHERRIE PAYNE, THERESA DAVIS and JIM GILSTRAP as members of Tour De 4Force, they are proving, once again, to be trailblazers.
